Josh Elliot is Leaving ABCs Good Morning America

Sometimes, when a host or co-host leaves a show we really like them on, we don’t always know the real reasons for that. While sometimes, hosts leave because they want to stretch themselves and do something different, the real, behind-the-scenes reason is often because of contractual disagreements. Sometimes, producers, networks, and hosts don’t all see eye to eye about what they should be making. That seems to be the case with Josh Elliot and his announcement that he will be leaving Good Morning America.

It seems Josh Elliot wants ten million dollars a year, and GMA only offered him five. To us it may sound like a lot, but if you look at it from Josh’s standpoint, it is half of what he thinks he deserves. For most, that would be a good enough reason to jump ship. Seems a big leap up from the one million he was initially making. Thing is, Josh Elliot isn’t just jumping without looking. Truth is, he is setting up a nice safety net already. The host has announced he would be leaving Good Morning America for NBC Sports, who I am assuming had no problem meeting his financial demands.

The reality is, Josh Elliot is good at what he does and will be missed at Good Morning America. But sometimes you just need to spread your wings. Sometimes, you just need a change of scenery and pace to challenge yourself. Also, sometimes, you just want more money, and if someone else offers you that, sometimes you just need to switch tables.

Seems that is just what Josh Elliot did, and we wish him the best of luck on his future endeavors.
